Jesus' words about Worry
- So why do you worry about
clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil
nor spin; Matthew
6:28
- "Therefore do not worry,
saying, ; What will we eat?' or 'What will we wear? For it is the Gentiles who
strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need
all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew
6:31-33
-
"So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its
own. Today's trouble is enough for today." Matthew
6:34
- "Therefore I tell you,
do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what
you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Luke
12:22
-
Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse
nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the
birds!" Luke
12:24
- Consider the lilies,
how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even
Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Luke
12:27
-
"And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to the span of
life?" Luke 12:25
-
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as
the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be
afraid." John 14:27
- "And do not seek what
you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For
all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows
that you need these things. Luke
12:29-30
- But when they deliver you
up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to
you in that hour what you should speak;
Matthew 10:19
- Come to Me, all you who
labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew
11:28
