Jesus' words about Prayer
"And
when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think
that they will be heard for their many words Matthew
6:7 "And when you pray, you shall not be like
the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to
you, they have their reward. Matthew 6:5 "But you, when you pray, go into your
room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you
openly. Matthew 6:7 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our
Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.And
forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into
temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the
power and the glory forever. Amen." Matthew
6:13-19 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long
prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation." Matthew 23:14 "And all things, whatever you ask in
prayer, believing, you will receive."
Matthew 21:21-22 "Where two or three are
gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20 "It is written, 'My house shall be
called a house of prayer'; but you make it a den of thieves." Matthew 21:13 My Father, if it is possible, let this cup
pass for Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matthew 26:39 Watch and pray that you may not
enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is
weak. Matthew 26:41 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men
always ought to pray and
not lose heart...Luke 18:1 Watch therefore, and pray always
that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to
pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Luke21:36 I do not pray that you should take
them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one. John 17:15 Beware of practicing your piety before men
in order to be seen by them; for then you will have no reward from your Father
who is in heaven. Pray that it may not happen in winter.
For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the
beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. Mark 13:18-19 Therefore I say to you, whatever things
you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them Mark 11:24 I will pray the Father, and he will give
you another Counselor, to be with you forever, even Spirit the truth, whom the
world cannot receive, because neither sees him nor knows him; you know him,
for He dwells with you, and will be in you. John 14:16-17 The hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the
Father seeks to worship him. God in spirit, and those who worship him must
worship in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24 "I do not pray for these alone, but
also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be
one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us,
that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17: 20-21 "I pray for them. I do not pray for
the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all
Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them." John 17: 9-10 "But even now I know that whatever
You ask of God, God will give You." John 11:22 Watch therefore, and pray always that you
may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and
to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:36 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless
those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who
spitefully use you and persecute you. Matt 5:44 And whenever you stand praying, if you
have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also
